After School Club Assistant

Contract: Permanent
Hours/ Working Pattern: 10 hours per week, 3:30 – 5:30pm, Monday – Friday, Term time only
Salary/ Hourly Rate: Grade CD, £12.45 - £13.05 per hour

Castleton Community Primary School
Castleton currently has 49 pupils on roll across two classes: Acorns (EYFS/KS1) and Oaks (KS2). Outdoor learning is a key feature of our provision and children have regular opportunities to participate in a range of outdoor activities. Hidden behind our historic building are extensive grounds, which include tiered gardens featuring a pond, greenhouse, adventure play area, stage, quiet zone, forest school site and an outdoor classroom. Our children are also interested in music and the arts. Our parents are very keen to be involved in the life of the school and we have an active PTFA. Our Opportunity
Castleton Community Primary School is delighted to announce the launch of our brand-new After School Club! This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with our headteacher and senior staff to create engaging activities and plans for this exciting new provision. Our After School Club welcomes pupils aged 4-11, we anticipate a group size of  up to 10 children and likely fewer in the initial first months of the provision. You will have the chance to independently deliver and supervise activities, with the full support of our Headteacher and Teacher in Charge to help plan and manage resources.
We are looking for individuals with experience working with children, whether in play work or educational settings. If you have a passion for creating fun and educational experiences, we would love to hear from you!
This role is ideal for:
  • Teaching assistants looking for additional working hours
  • Newly qualified teaching assistants looking to develop further experience working with children
  • Childminders or carers looking to transition to a school-based setting
  • Education/ childcare students looking for a part time role to balance around their studies
