Ready for your next challenge in highway construction?
NY Highways is looking for an experienced NEC Supervisor to oversee highway maintenance and capital projects under the NEC4 contract framework. This is your chance to play a pivotal role in delivering safe, high-quality infrastructure on projects focused in Skipton, Boroughbridge and Selby in North Yorkshire.
What You’ll Do
As an NEC Supervisor, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring projects run smoothly and meet the highest standards. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising day-to-day highway maintenance and capital works.
- Conducting site inspections, audits, and measurements to maintain quality and safety.
- Managing NEC4 contract administration, including early warnings, compensation events, and change control.
- Keeping accurate records of site activities and ensuring timely contractor payments.
- Leading on-site teams, promoting health and safety, and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Enforcing quality control procedures and addressing any defective works promptly.

About You:
We’re looking for someone with:
- Experience in highway construction or related fields.
- Essential certifications: Traffic Management TM1, TM2, and T7 (with willingness to complete SSSTS, SMSTS, or CSCS if not held).
- Strong understanding of Quality Assurance and familiarity with the Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively, lead teams, and maintain accurate records.
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management software.
- You’ll also need flexibility, resilience to work outdoors in all weather, and a commitment to safety.
- There will be travel required in this role, visiting the projects you work on around North Yorkshire

Shape the Roads of North Yorkshire – Join NY Highways
Are you ready to take the lead in delivering high-quality highways maintenance across North Yorkshire? We’re looking for a skilled Ganger to join our dedicated team at the Selby Depot.
As a Ganger, you’ll play a key role in improving infrastructure across towns, villages, and rural communities. You’ll lead a team, manage projects, and ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
About the Role
As a Ganger, you’ll lead a team of at least four operatives, delivering maintenance and construction works across Selby and surrounding areas. From kerb installation and drainage repairs to footway construction and traffic management, your work will directly impact the safety and quality of our roads.
You’ll also:
- Ensure works are completed to specification and on schedule
- Manage supply chain partners and coordinate site activities
- Operate equipment and carry out routine and cyclical maintenance
- Participate in out-of-hours call-outs for emergencies and winter maintenance
This is a physically active, outdoor role requiring a good level of fitness. Full PPE and outdoor clothing will be provided.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Level 2 qualification in highway maintenance or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
- Proven experience leading and directing a team
Desirable (training provided if needed):
- Banksman, Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels, Emergency First Aid, Safe Dig
- Traffic Management TM1 and TM2
