Location: Whitby School and Sixth Form
Contract: Permanent
Hours/ Working Pattern: Full-time, 32.5 hours per week, term time only plus 5 days a week (Part-time hours available)
Salary/ Hourly Rate: Grade E, £13.05 - £13.69 per hour, £25,183 - £26,409 per annum

Our Opportunity
Meeting the needs of pupils at Whitby School has always been a very important part of our ethos. Whitby School is an inclusive school and aims to provide the support for all pupils.
We are seeking to appoint an Inclusion Cover Supervisor to provide cover for absent teaching staff and be a key member of our School Support staff.
You will deliver tasks to students as set out by teachers and senior staff, managing classroom organisation, and encouraging positive student behaviour and motivation. As well as covering lessons, you will supervise students, assist in targeted work with small groups of students, and undertake administrative support for the academic and pastoral systems of the school. You will develop positive and motivational relationships with students which support the raising of achievement.
The role is wonderfully varied, you will be able to develop administrative skills as well as educational support skills. You will work throughout the full school in various classes and subjects.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates who wish to transition into a teaching assistant career.
What you will need to succeed:
- Committed to supporting students
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Effective communicator both orally and in writing
- Effective ICT skills
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Understanding of the educational system and current developments
Qualifications:
- GCSE Maths & English at grade C / grade 4 as a minimum
- A Teaching Assistant qualification is not essential but may be preferred
Experience within a school environment assisting pupils is not essential but may be preferred
