Interim Cover - Administrative Assistant (Attendance)

Contract: Temporary - cover
Hours/ Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, term time only
Salary/ Hourly Rate: Grade CD, £12.45 - £13.05 per hour, £24,027 - £25,183 per annum full time equivalent

Closing Date: 9am, Friday 13th December
Interviews: Monday 16th
Shadowing current staff member: 1 morning & 1 afternoon wc 16th
Start Date: Monday 6th January (Essential)

Our opportunity

We are looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our support team. Your key focus will be improving pupil attendance through monitoring data trends and ensuring that absences are followed up, so that pastoral and senior staff can outline and help pupils overcome barriers to learning.

A core responsibility will be recording, monitoring, evaluating and reporting on pupil attendance data, attention to detail is key.

You will be a point of contact for parents/carers to ensure that attendance at school is kept as a high priority for maintaining pupil progress and pupil learning. You will need to hold strong communication skills and have emotional resilience in order to have discussions around challenging behaviours and attendance issues.

This role will allow you to contribute to the positive educational experience of our pupils.

This role is not exclusively for those who have worked administration duties for a school environment before, candidates who have worked in other sectors are encouraged to apply.

Key Skills

  • Level 2 qualification or equivalent to demonstrate good literacy and numeracy skills. (Such as GCSE grade C/ 4 and above)
  • Enjoy working as part of a team
  • Demonstrate good communication skills both orally and in writing
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Able to multitask across various systems and be able to learn adapt to any software updates or changes
