Maternity Cover Class Teacher – Upper Key Stage 2
Wednesday to Friday
Start Date: October 2026 – exact date to be confirmed
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and highly effective Class Teacher to join our welcoming and inclusive school community. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong practitioner to inspire and motivate our pupils in Upper Key Stage 2 to meet their full potential and thrive in their learning. Whether you’re an experienced teacher or an ECT, we’re looking for a passionate individual who is ready to make a difference.
We are looking for a teacher who:
- Has Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Has successful experience of teaching in Key Stage 2, preferably Upper Key Stage 2.
- Demonstrates consistently high expectations for attainment, behaviour and personal development.
- Has secure curriculum knowledge and a strong understanding of effective pedagogy.
- Is skilled in adaptive teaching and can successfully meet the needs of all learners, including pupils with SEND, disadvantaged pupils and those working at greater depth.
- Has experience of using assessment effectively to identify misconceptions and inform next steps in learning.
- Understands the principles of inclusive practice and is committed to removing barriers to learning.
- Has knowledge of a range of evidence-informed adaptive teaching strategies, including scaffolding, modelling, questioning, retrieval practice, cognitive and metacognitive approaches, and the effective use of teaching assistants.
- Works collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external agencies to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Is reflective, committed to professional development and willing to contribute fully to school life.
