Salary: £24,310 (As of 1st April 2025) - £25,183

Contract: Permanent, term time only plus training days
Hours: GTA (32.5 hours – 08:30am to 3.30pm) and After School Playworker (5 hours)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring person for an EYFS / KS1 GTA (32.5 hours) and After School Playworker (5 hours). This could be a combined role or we are happy to accept applications for the roles separately. It is an established/permanent position.

We are looking to appoint a dedicated and caring General Teaching Assistant to support children’s learning and help teachers in the preparation of activities, lessons and the learning environment.
The role is required to work with our Key Stage 1 and EYFS children including some breaktime and lunchtime cover in our Nursery provision.
The successful candidate will need:
- Good knowledge and understanding of young children
- Good knowledge of the curriculum for EYFS & KS1(or willing to learn)
- A recognised level 3 childcare qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential as additional training can be offered.
- The ability to work autonomously under the direction of the teacher
- Follow school policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils
- Be able to communicate effectively with children and adults and work as part of a team
- Be committed to our school ethos
- Be empathetic, caring, flexible and approachable
- Be willing to undertake appropriate training
After School Playworker role Working hours: Two days a week (we can be flexible) 3.30pm to 6.00pm. We are seeking to appoint a passionate, highly motivated playworker who will be dedicated to ensuring the highest quality learning and play experiences for our children at our After School Club. The main focus of the role is to ensure high quality extended care provision in our school.
The post holder:-
- will organise an appropriate range of activities and supervise the children.
- will serve a simple healthy snack.
- will ensure high standards of food hygiene are practised
- will share our vision and ethos for the highest standards in all aspects of school life.
- will have good communication and organisational skills. It will be desirable or candidates to have some experience of working with children.
Our Castle Club is open: 3.30pm-6.00pm – Monday- Friday It may be possible to do a job-share if another suitable candidate is willing to share the roles.
