About Overdale Community Primary School
‘Respect, Responsibility, Resilience’
Our new school opened in September 2021; it is an amazing purpose-built modern school for the children of Eastfield. The school offers state-of-the-art facilities, which will be a tremendous boost to children’s academic learning as well as enhancing the value of the local community where it sits.
Alongside this, we have spacious classrooms benefitting from natural light and ventilation, creating the best possible learning environment for our pupils and best possible working conditions for our staff. Outdoors, we have two football pitches, a rounders pitch and a one-mile running track, along with an environmental area and quiet place with logs and other features. We use our outdoor space for orienteering and problem-solving.
In the 2025/ 2026 academic year we will be welcoming another class to our school to make us almost two form entry across the board. We are excited to be welcoming further staff and pupils to become a part of Team Overdale.
We are proud to be a leading school in the area. Together we have built a school that has the highest aspirations for our children to shine, but also one that supports and celebrates our amazing community that we are proud to serve.
School Therapy Dog
At Overdale School we work hard to ensure that our children feel like school is a home from home. A place they can learn, thrive and be happy. That is why we now have our school therapy dog Buddy. Buddy has been a fantastic addition to our school for our children and our staff. Our pupils love to come and see Buddy and he has an immediate calming effect on our children who might be having a bad day or just need a cuddle. We are seeing lots of benefits already of having our school dog. Improving attendance, a calmer environment, support for our ASD children and much more. His hypoallergenic fur has given children the opportunity to be around a dog and not suffer from a reaction. Having a dog in school has the potential to help young children to develop in a range of academic, personal and social areas. He is very much a part of our Overdale family, and we love having him around school.
Our Opportunity
We are looking to appoint a Key Stage 2 Teacher to join our team. Your skills and experience will determine which year group you will be assigned to. The ideal candidate will have experience of teaching Year 6 and behaviour management skills.
Year 6 is an exciting year group to be part of, we have recently launched '50 Things to Do Before 11 ¾', a set of exciting activities designed for children before they transition to secondary school. As part of this Year 6 have an exciting trip to London to create unforgettable memories.
We are passionate about having high aspirations for our pupils and are dedicated to enriching their experiences beyond the standard curriculum. By helping them develop their own interests, partake in memorable experiences, and encouraging them to dream and plan for their futures, we aim to inspire them. Early consideration of their passions and interests can guide them to focus on curriculum areas that will serve as steppingstones to their life goals. Today's science lessons could pave the way for them to become the scientists and engineers of tomorrow.
