Norton Community Primary School is a warm and friendly community school that provides education for children aged 3-11. It currently has around 570 children on roll. We will also have the Satellite, which is our Targeted Mainstream Provision for children with high level communication and interaction needs.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join a dedicated, inspirational team that are committed to delivering high standards and the best education possible for children with Communication and Interaction needs. We are seeking to appoint a caring, nurturing Advanced Level Teaching Assistant to support the teaching and learning of individuals or small groups of children with SEND in our new Targeted Mainstream provision (TMP), under the direction of the SEN teacher and Senior Leadership Team.

The provision for each child is tailored to their individual needs, with academic input, and work on their EHCP targets. A bespoke timetable created by senior staff will ensure that gaps in each child’s development will be reduced and that their strengths and abilities are nurtured and allowed to flourish within a small, safe environment.

We also support children in moving between the Satellite room and the relevant mainstream classes, so that our children can develop friendships with their peers and gradually increase the time spent with their year group cohort. The overall aim for these children is to reintegrate them back into mainstream classes wherever possible.

This is a wonderfully rewarding opportunity to see your positive influence upon the pupils’ development. You will work within our provision alongside the SEN teacher and other support staff.
