Markington is a small, rural primary school and our highly skilled and dedicated staff are proud to offer children a good education in our nurturing and caring school. Our friendly staff team are professional and motivated, and work effectively with our supportive community and Governing Body, and parents are ‘overwhelmingly 100% positive’.

We are looking for an enthusiastic part-time level 2 or 3 GTA to join our outstanding team in supporting our small classes every afternoon. The post will mostly be providing additional support for teaching and learning with the experienced KS2 class teacher. The post will initially be until the end of the spring term (27th April 2026) but is likely to be extended.

The successful candidate will need:

• Good knowledge and understanding of children
• Hold a recognised level 2 or 3 childcare qualification (or equivalent)
• The ability to work autonomously under the direction of the teacher.
• Follow school policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils
• Be able to communicate effectively with children and adults and work as part of a team
• Be committed to our school ethos
• Be empathetic, caring, flexible and approachable
• Be willing to undertake appropriate training
