Lythe CofE VC Primary School
EYFS Class Teacher
Our School
Lythe CofE VC Primary School is beautifully situated at the heart of its local community, surrounded by forest, moorland and the North Yorkshire coast.
We have around 80 pupils on roll divided into four mixed classes, each with their own teaching assistant. Staff are supported by our Headteacher, Senior Teacher in Charge, and our wonderful team of office staff keeping everything running smoothly.
We are lucky enough to possess our own minibus which gives us good access to our local area, allowing us to make good use of the resources on our doorstep, such as our magnificent forest and beach school provision.
We have a clear ambition for everyone in the Lythe School family: our Vision is for our school community to flourish academically, physically and spiritually. We will shine as individuals and as a school family, going on to enhance the wider community and the lives of those around us.
The children of our school Ethos Group have worked to sum this up in a single, simple sentence that we use to guide and evaluate all our actions: “Be the best you can be and let your light shine.”
Our Opportunity
We are looking for a teacher to join our Acorn Class while our permanent teacher is on maternity leave.
Acorn is our Early Years class, encompassing both Nursery and Reception children. Nursery places are available for children from the age of three. The Acorn class is supported by two wonderful teaching assistants who help nurture and shape the lives of all the children in the setting.
Phonics learning starts gently in Nursery, with plenty of work on speech and language, and provides a sound basis for learning to read. A seamless transition into Reception year is really helpful as children move into formal reading instruction. The mix of age groups is fantastic for providing support and challenge for our pupils, and for building good friendships.
Our unique location lets us offer highly individualised provision, and all benefit hugely from our Forest Schools work using the beautiful Mulgrave Woods. Our school minibus means that we can regularly venture further afield to coast, moorland and town facilities.
You can view our Acorn Class curriculum here.
