Are you an experienced class teacher looking to progress in your career and advance quickly into a leadership role?
Glaisdale Primary School
Nestled 9 miles in-land from central Whitby, surrounded by the stunning North York Moors National Park lies Glaisdale Primary School.
We currently have 25 pupils on roll across two classes: Explorers (EYFS/KS1) and Adventurers (KS2).
All our children have regular opportunities to take their learning outdoors, whether this is conducting geographical fieldwork in the village, making observational drawings of Beggar's Bridge, identifying types of trees and plants or taking part in a whole school orienteering challenge.
Staff have high expectations of all pupils and are keen to develop their resilience, independence and communication skills. Staff, pupils, parents and governors have worked together to create a set of oaths, which aim to enhance pupils’ broader development during their time at Glaisdale in order to ensure that all pupils are effectively prepared for the next stage of their educational journey.

Our Opportunity
We are looking for a Teacher in Charge to join our team. You will be the lead for Key Stage 2. This is an exciting key stage to be a part of as you will be a main figure in shaping the educational experience for our pupils and preparing them for life beyond Glaisdale when they progress to secondary school.
This role is ideal for experienced class teachers looking to expand their duties and progress in their career. Our previous 2 Teachers-in-Charge have progressed into headship in the last 3 years.
Regrettably, this opportunity is not suitable for ECTs.
We are looking for:
  • A skilled professional who has an engaging and inspirational style of teaching and can differentiate across KS2.
  • Someone who has the drive and ambition to make sure our children achieve their very best, and promotes academic excellence.
  • An established teacher with a flair and passion for primary education who will embrace working and teaching in our school.
  • A professional with senior leadership skills or aspirations to develop these, who can contribute and lead on school development initiatives.
  • A highly-organised individual who is able to manage the day-to-day operation running of a small school, balanced with their own teaching commitment, in the absence of Executive Headteacher.
  • Someone who will embrace our nurture principles and a nurturing approach to supporting children with a range of needs.
  • The ability to act as the deputy designated safeguarding lead.
  • A leader who can support the development of subjects/initiatives across their own school and others.
  • Ability to lead maths across school and support other local schools.
