Set in a historic school in the heart of Scarborough, we are very much an extension of local families and communities, and we pride ourselves on being able to offer more than just ‘schooling’. We make the most of what is in the local area to provide pupils with a variety of educational experiences, ranging from annual trips to the beach in the summertime, attending local museums and art galleries, castles and more. Linking the curriculum to offsite activities to enrich our curriculum and bring learning to life.
We provide a friendly and inspirational education setting for our staff and children. As a four-form primary school you join the largest primary team (in the area) who will support and challenge you in your practice.
We welcomed our experienced Headteacher in January 2020 and since then, have overhauled our curriculum, leadership structure, provision, and learning environments, which we recently celebrated with a 'Good' Ofsted report in July 2023.
Our Headteacher Mr Johnson is an active, supportive, uplifting presence in our school with a focus on wellbeing support for both pupils and staff. We have an active Facebook Page showcasing recent school trips, awards, and videos from Mr Johnson.
We have a committed, talented and cohesive staff, delightful children and strong and supportive Governors – every one of us united to build a school we can all be proud of.

Our Opportunity
We are looking for a Key Stage Two Teacher to join our team! You will be placed in either year 3 or 4.
Our KS2 results are above the Local Authority average for Pupils meeting expected standard in reading, writing and maths. You can play your part in encouraging further progress and set the foundations for pupils to excel beyond their time at Gladstone Road.
Our KS2 Department has approximately 16 Teachers with their own classes. Strength in numbers means you will always have another teacher available to bounce ideas off of and share best practice. You will also be supported by our Phase Lead and Teaching Assistants to lend a helping hand.
This role is ideal for ECT’s looking for a solid 1-year placement or for more experienced teachers looking for a new contract.
