Brompton and Sawdon Primary School is a happy, thriving, small village school, surrounded by endless learning opportunities, something which our Wild School fully embraces.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious and inspirational Teacher to join our dedicated staff team. If you are a great teacher, with the passion and commitment to help us build on the amazing things happening in school, this could be the role for you! This position is available for a September 2025 start, or as soon as possible after. Although advertised as a fixed-term position, we envisage this becoming an established post after a year.
It’s such an exciting time to join us. Our Curriculum has recently been enhanced to ensure that we maximise opportunities to develop the children’s global awareness and aspirations to do well across every subject; our assessments have been modernised to reflect academic research and allow the children to better link ideas; and Wild School goes from strength to strength!
We are constantly striving for academic excellence, something which we want to achieve through great teaching, unforgettable experiences and teamwork.
At this truly unique school, you will be encouraged to take learning outside of the classroom. With one/two minibuses at your disposal, you will also have the flexibility and support to really bring teaching and learning in your class to life!
This exceptional person will share our School Pillars and Wild School ethos and be able to nurture and develop every child’s unique talent and ability so that they can be the very best that they can be. We also have the same ambition for every member of our staff team - we are committed to helping all staff become the teacher or leader that they aspire to be.
Although undoubtedly challenging at times, teaching in our mixed-age classes will be interesting, varied and exciting. Working within our collaborative, supportive environment, the successful candidate will feel valued and have the opportunities to thrive as both a teacher and leader. This post will also involve subject Leadership - experience of leading English or Maths would be desirable but not essential.
To be successful, you will need to:
- Be a great teacher, able to provide the very best learning experiences for all pupils
- Be able to secure the very best outcomes for our pupils, especially in end of Key Stage assessments
- Possess energy and enthusiasm
- Be a team player with excellent inter-personal and communication skills
- Have outstanding organisation skills
- Demonstrate the ability to lead, value, inspire and motivate others
- Be flexible
- Have a commitment to the school Pillars and Wild School
- Be keen to embrace outdoor learning and be passionate about environmental issues
- Have the highest expectations of behaviour
In return, we will empower, motivate and inspire you to be the very best that you can be. You can expect the following benefits to enhance your working life:
- Truly fantastic, well-behaved children with a thirst for learning
- A happy, friendly and supportive team
- Access to fantastic indoor and outdoor learning environments, including Wild School
- A well-resourced school with Technology available to enhance learning for all pupils
- The support to really bring teaching and learning in your class to life
- A school which celebrates its Pillars in everything it does
- The time out of class required to do all aspects of your job well
- The opportunity to help to shape your school, knowing that your thoughts and ideas will be valued
- A strong ethos of high expectations and challenge for the whole community
- Excellent professional development – develop as a teacher and leader through ongoing bespoke CPD and regular opportunities to work with cluster schools
- Career enhancement opportunities – develop your knowledge of all aspects of school leadership
- Excellent induction and support programme for all staff new to the school
- The strongest relationships with parents and carers
- The opportunity to try new ideas and approaches within a supportive, understanding ethos
- The opportunity to make a real difference to the learning of the children
