Administration Assistant & Exams Officer (with Receptionist duties)

Location: Brompton-by-Sawdon, Scarborough
Contract: Permanent, term time only plus 5 INSET days and 5 days in school holidays, 40 weeks per year
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, 8am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8am - 1.30pm on a Friday
Pay: £23,031- £24,955 per annum (Actual)

Closing Date: 12 noon, Wednesday 26th March 2025

Brompton Hall School is based within private grounds in the pretty village of Brompton-by-Sawdon and is a Special Education School for pupils aged between 8 and 16 years, who have an Education, Health and Care Plan.

Our Opportunity

We are seeking to appoint an Administration Assistant & Exams Officer to join our friendly support team.
You will play a key role in our busy open plan school office, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, parents, phone calls and enquiries. In addition to receptionist duties, you will support the Senior Leadership Team with organising and coordinating exams, ensuring regulations and procedures are kept up to date and followed.
You will work closely with other administrator staff members and will be supported by the Office Manager.

Key duties:

  • Maintain the school database to ensure pupil records are accurate and up to date
  • Act as the first point of contact, greeting visitors and answering phone calls
  • Ensure that the school complies with the examination board rules
  • Securely store completed exam entries before sending them for marking
  • Coordination of exam timetables, room use, and invigilators
  • Deal with issues relating to appeals, remarking and other administrative issues

You will

  • Hold Grade C minimum in Maths and English GSCE or an equivalent qualification
  • Be a competent administrator
  • Be willing to work as part of an existing team
  • Be able to multitask
  • Be able to work under pressure and be resilient
  • Be IT literate
