Title: Room Leader, 2-Year-old Nursery Level 4 and above
Salary: £28,163 - £30,559
Grade: G
Contract: Permanent (term time only plus 1 week)


Hours: 37 hours including non-directed time
Location: Athelstan CP School, LS25 6QN


We are looking to appoint a hardworking, knowledgeable, dynamic, passionate and creative room leader, to lead the two-year-old team in our well-established Raindrops room. You must be committed to following a creative, child centred approach to teaching and learning and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You would work alongside an established motivated and supportive Early Years Team, led by our Early Years Manager.
The appointment will be ideal for someone who is enthusiastic, and committed to putting the children first, to become a valued member of our friendly team. We are looking for candidate who can work to support the current team and school senior management with the future expansion and development of the nursery, moving to all year-round provision. Appropriate training and support can be provided. We are committed to inclusion and we are looking for a good team player with a flexible approach to learning, as well as an ability to foster excellent and appropriate professional relationships with children and their parents/carers.
You must:

  •  Be an experienced proven outstanding practitioner
  • Be fully up to date with current EYFS best practice in teaching and assessment.
  • Be able to motivate and lead the team within your room
  • Be an excellent team player contributing to the early years as a whole
  • Be confident in communicating positively with parents, and all other stakeholders on a daily basis.
  • Be hardworking and willing to contribute to the whole school ethos
  • Ensure that all children attending the setting receive a creative, inspiring and stimulating learning environment with high quality care, are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play experiences both indoors and outdoors.
  • Have a sense of fun!

The successful applicant will have at least a Level 4 to join our nursery team as a room leader. The successful candidate will also have experience of working with 2-year-olds.Visits to our school are welcomed and indeed encouraged. Please contact the school to arrange an appointment.
