Early Years Teaching Assistant
Salary: £24,027 - £24,404 per annum, pro rata
Vacancy Hours: 37 hours per week
- GTA 30 hours per week (Monday – Friday 8.30am -3pm)
- Playworker 7 hours per week - (Monday Tuesday/Wednesday7.30am -8.30am) (Monday/Wednesday 3pm-5pm)

We require an outstanding and highly motivated Teaching Assistant to join our hard-working team in our busy ‘outstanding’ Early Years unit. The combined post is 36 hours per week, working across the EYFS classrooms under the direction of the class teachers. Working day 8.30am -3. 00pm.The post will involve supporting all children across the early years, this will include supporting some children with SEND. There is also an additional 6 hours, linked to the post for the school before and after school club. Athelstan School is a friendly, warm and welcoming school, there is a strong family and inclusive ethos, where teamwork is highly valued and the role of the individual within the team is respected. Candidates should be committed to following a creative, child centred approach to teaching and learning and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You would work alongside an established motivated and supportive Early Years Team, led by our Early Years Manager.

Candidates should have:
- An understanding of and commitment to the provision of good quality childcare
- Send Experience, desirable
- An understanding of food hygiene rules
- Health & safety knowledge, including lifting and handling and fire prevention
- A sound understanding of safeguarding procedures
- Knowledge of healthy eating
The successful applicant will have a level 3 child care qualification and have a desire to work within early years. We are committed to inclusion.
