Salary: £20,969 to £21,978 per annum

Hours: 32.5 hours per week

Hours: Split Shifts: 7:30am–10:30am & 2:30pm–6:00pm (32.5 hours per week)
Days: Monday to Friday, Term Time plus 5 weeks to be worked in the school holidays
Contract Type: Permanent Grade: Grade C/D, Scp 3-6 (actual salary £20,969 - £21,978 per year)
We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and friendly Caretaker to join our dedicated team at Barrowcliff School. This is a vital role in helping maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Opening and securing the school premises daily
- General maintenance and minor repairs
- Ensuring health and safety standards are upheld
- Grounds maintenance and cleanliness
- Liaising with contractors and suppliers
- General portering, moving of equipment, supporting with deliveries
- Willingness to carry out routine cleaning duties as part of maintaining a safe and hygienic environment
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in a similar role (preferred but not essential)
- Basic DIY and maintenance skills
- Good organisational skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively and respectfully with both adults and children.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the school
- Ability to safely perform the physical tasks associated with the role, such as lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and moving equipment
