We have a very exciting opportunity for someone to become part of our fantastic, friendly and positive team. We have very successfully employed a Sports Instructor for the last six years and this role has had a dramatic impact on the positivity and happiness of our school.

The role involves leading sporting activities at play and lunchtime, leading PE lessons for all classes and running after school sports clubs. There is some flexibility in hours, but it is anticipated to be between 32.5 and 37.5 hours a week, from 10am until 6pm. However, this is an unusual role, and this can be adapted for the right candidate.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have skills and experience in teaching or coaching sport, but this is not essential. The right attitude, the willingness to learn and develop, and a positive approach to all aspects of school life are more important!

We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, flexible and friendly person to join a forward-thinking and happy team. We have grown as a school in recent years and this role is central in helping us to continue to thrive. Our children LOVE coming to school, and it is very important to us that whoever joins us can continue this approach to ensure the children have consistency. At Great Ouseburn, we want our children to look forward to every day. We aim to instil a pride in their learning and a love of school. If you think you can help foster that in our children, we would love to hear from you.

We are a small, friendly school with big ambitions and a close team who work hard to support each other at an exciting time for the school. We need a friendly team player, who is open to giving and receiving advice, making changes and adopting new approaches, irrespective of their experience.

We want someone with ambition and drive to help us continue to develop our fantastic school. If you are able to build warm relationships with children, colleagues and staff and have exceptionally high expectations of every child, every day then we are looking forward to receiving your application.

We would welcome visits to school to discuss this slightly unusual role or to answer any questions.  Please arrange this by contacting Nick Oswald by email on headteacher@greatouseburn.nyorks.sch.uk or by phone on 01423 330296.

Please email completed application forms to: headteacher@greatouseburn.n-yorks.sch.uk
