Pay: Grade 4, Actual salary £18,729 - £19,329 per year

Brompton Hall School is based within private grounds in the pretty village of Brompton-by-Sawdon and is a Special Education School for pupils aged between 8 and 16 years, who have an Education, Health and Care Plan.

This role is wonderfully varied, you will be based both within and outside of the classroom. You will be required to use your initiative, and work with small groups, as well as at times be within the full class. Under the supervision of the teacher, you will use your skills to enhance the learning opportunities of the children within our school.
Key Responsibilities
- Safeguarding: Ensure pupil safety and compliance with safeguarding policies
- Pupil Support: Assist in learning, development, and personal growth, including SEN and EAL
- Teacher Support: Help with lesson planning, classroom management, and progress monitoring
- School Engagement: Supervise pupils during non-lesson times, promote behaviour, and collaborate with parents
- Curriculum Support: Prepare resources, support learning activities, and use technology effectively
- Development: Attend training, contribute to school goals, and participate in professional growth
The successful applicant will have:
- Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age
- Understanding of National Curriculum, and other codes of practice eg SEN, Equalities
- GCSE English and maths Grade A-C (or equivalent – eg Certificate in Adult Literacy / Numeracy Level 2)
- NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant Qualification is desirable but not essential
- The ability to build strong relationships with children, motivating and developing them
- A passion for seeing young people succeed
