Brierley Homes - Non Executive Director
Thank you for your interest in this position.
Brierley Homes was founded in 2017 and I am immensely proud of what the Company has achieved in this short period of time, both in terms of growth and development but also the reputation for high quality houses and customer service.
We build homes in which families can thrive and that have a positive impact in the place that we build. Beyond our commercial objectives we are an ethical, sustainable and community focussed business, being public sector owned our ethos is to do the right thing and make a difference, underpinned by success.
The Company continues to grow, and we currently have several new developments confirmed including at Ingleton in the far west of the county, to West Ayton on the east coast. Brierley Homes has also established an affordable homes partnership with Broadacres Housing Association which supports local people to purchase their own home in their community.
To support the Company with continued growth and development we are seeking a Non-Executive Director to join the Board; to strengthen our future.
We are looking for our new Board member to offer us house building sector expertise; you will positively challenge our thinking, provide governance to our operation, whilst raising our ambition and profile through your networks. Your successful track record in the house building sector and your commercial acumen will add value to driving Brierley Homes to drive our continued success.
If you have the experience, passion and ambition to join us to drive the next phase of our sustainable growth, then I would like to hear from you. In the meantime, following an initial conversation with one of my colleagues in our Resourcing Solutions team, I would be very happy to arrange a further conversation to discuss our exciting plans with you.

About Brierley Homes
Brierley Homes is a domestic house building company based in North Yorkshire. The company takes pride in designing and building bespoke houses, each unique in its design and construction. Brierley Homes is wholly owned by North Yorkshire Council and the value generated by the company is returned to support front-line council services across North Yorkshire.
The Company was established in 2017 and has grown from strength to strength. Initially starting with just one small development in Thorpe Willoughby, the company now has multiple developments across the county, including at Stokesley in the north of the county, to Marton cum Grafton in the centre and a new development at West Ayton on the Yorkshire coast.
Brierley Homes prides itself on attention to detail at all levels, from the design and construction through to the high quality of customer care, personalised for each customer. The focus is on the whole process, from the construction to the customer care received during and after purchase to ensure all needs are met.
As the company is backed by North Yorkshire Council, it is financially sound and shares the value of providing great customer service.
In 2023 Brierley Homes formed a partnership with North Yorkshire Housing Association Broadacres, to develop affordable homes. The first ones will be on a new site at Kirkby Malzeard near Ripon, the site will feature 33 houses, of which 13 will be affordable homes.
Brierley Homes continues to have ambitions to grow and develop over future years, but not to compromise on quality and the uniqueness of our properties which is what the company believes makes them attractive to customers and has a positive impact on the place in which we build.
