We provide a wide ranging multi-disciplinary building design consultancy, consisting of Architects, Building Surveyors, Project Managers, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, Structural / Civil Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Property Advisors, CDM and Fire Advisors. Our focus is to provide services to both the Private and Public sector clients throughout the North of England.

We are an award-winning building design consultancy and 2024 is looking to be our busiest year yet. With exciting new projects coming up with our Partner North Yorkshire Council and private sector clients, we are looking for an Associate Flood Risk & Hydraulic Modeller to join us at Align Property Partners. This is a brand-new role with Align, giving you the opportunity to take a lead in hydraulic modelling in the business and truly make it your own.
As an Associate, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading a dedicated team of hydraulic modelers & engineers. This position offers a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to build and manage their own team while benefiting from the support and guidance of the APP multidisciplinary group. You will be responsible for establishing best practices, driving innovation, and contributing to the success of our projects related to water systems and infrastructure.
You will use your extensive experience of this sector and your background in engineering to produce and run 1D/2D hydraulic models, Flood Risk Assessments, Flood Alleviation Schemes and Drainage Strategies on a wide range of schemes. Using Hydraulic software packages of your choice, you will work with our Engineers and Technicians to deliver projects that meet client requirements whilst providing technical support to others.

- Degree in Civil/Structural/Environmental Engineering or equivalent with substantial post-qualification experience
- Membership with CIWEM or working towards membership of this professional body.
- Demonstratable experience in delivering Flood Alleviation schemes, Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies. Deep knowledge of the regulatory system to ensure that designs and projects comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in engineering software tools, such as Autocad, ArcGIS and Hydraulic Modelling software (e.g., Infodrainage, Flow, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, Flood M Modeller).
- Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Strong leadership and communicative skills with the ability to develop and maintain working relationships with colleagues and clients.

As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will lead project delivery and oversee schemes working collaboratively with other disciplines to ensure they are cost and time efficient. You will use your significant engineering experience in your day-to-day workload as well as continuing and developing projects, and you will oversee designs from feasibility to completion whilst monitoring resources and finances. Due to our continued steady expansion, we now have the opportunity for a Senior Electrical Building Services Engineer to bring their experience, professionalism and enthusiasm to the Building Services team that work within the company’s successful multi-discipline workforce of Architects, Highways Engineers, Drainage Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Civil Engineers and Structural Engineers collaborating on a variety of projects from industrial buildings to new build homes, schools to refurbishments.
You will be responsible for providing a variety of services including those relating to building pathology, design, project management, building surveys and contract administration as well as producing early design advice through to detailed electrical services design.
Your previous experience in Electrical Services Engineering will have given you the ability to manage a busy and varied project workload, appreciate complex situations and communicate clearly when working closely with other disciplines to deliver engineering solutions to meet client’s budgets and programmes.
This position will involve visiting sites to attend meetings, carry out inspections and surveys across current and planned projects in North Yorkshire, North East England, Cumbria, West Yorkshire North Lincs so you must be able to make your way independently to these sites.
You will be able to advise on Health and Safety issues, fire safety and sustainability throughout the design and construction period of projects, taking into account the Construction Design and Management Regulations. With exciting new projects coming up with our Partner North Yorkshire Council and private sector clients, we are looking for a Bridge Engineer to join us at Align Property Partners. You will join a strong team of Engineers and Technicians and deliver valuable work as we continue to grow.
As a Bridge Engineer, your work will include the appraisal, assessment, and design of bridge structures. You will provide technical reports, such as AIPs, assessment and design reports, specifications and contract documents and provide detailed designs, from preliminary to final stage including outline cost estimates.

You will collaborate with colleagues across our multi-discipled workforce and our clients, from our Local Authority Partners, North Yorkshire Council as well as private sector clients where you can share your knowledge as well as develop your own skills.

To be successful in this position, you will be able to demonstrate the following essential skills and qualifications:
- Working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer
- Have a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent) with post-qualification experience
- Have experience working on new bridge, modifications and / or maintenance projects
- Knowledge and experience of using Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW).
- Knowledge and experience of Eurocodes and British Standards for the design and assessment of bridges and civil structures.
- Conversant with analysis and design software packages, such as STAAD, MIDAS, LUSAS, Autodesk SBD etc.

With exciting new projects coming up with our Partner North Yorkshire Council and private sector clients, we are looking for a Engineering Technician to join us at Align Property Partners within our Bridges Structural team. You will play a vital part in supporting the team as we continue to grow.
In this role, you will perform initial surveys of sites and assist the Bridge Engineers with designs and cost estimates. You will support the Bridge Inspector on inspections and complete the relevant Health and Safety Risk Assessments. You will support in preparing documentation for technical, design, and specification reporting as well as creating contractual documents. You will regularly monitor progress of projects against budgets and report back on your findings.

To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Technician Membership (EngTech ICE) or working towards.
- HND / HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with experience working within an engineering design consultancy or Local Authority.
- Demonstrable experience in the inspection of bridges
- Experience working on bridge modifications and / or maintenance projects
- Knowledge and experience in the use of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW).
- Proficient in the use of drawing packages, e.g., AutoCAD, to produce detailed technical drawings and models.

We are an award-winning building design consultancy and 2024 is looking to be our busiest year yet. With exciting new projects coming up with our Partner North Yorkshire Council and private sector clients, we are looking for two Bridge Inspectors to join us at Align Property Partners.
You will be responsible for the arranging and carrying out of effective and efficient bridge inspections, reporting back on findings in accordance with contractual agreement. There will be time where you will supervise special inspections such as diving and confined spaces. Your knowledge and expertise will guide you to make informed decisions in your investigations on any defects within the structures and escalating the findings to all parties to ensure all bridges are safe across the county.

- Experience of working at height, overwater and railways and the Health & Safety risks associated.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
