We provide a wide ranging multi-disciplinary building design consultancy, consisting of Architecture, Sustainability, Building Surveying, Project Management, Civil & Structural, Transport Planning, Bridges, Highways & Drainage Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, CDM, Property Advisory & Estate Management. Our focus is to provide services to both the Private and Public sector clients throughout the North of England.

Based in five offices across the North of England, our award winning, integrated multi-disciplinary team has over a decade of experience in delivering a wide range of building projects across many sectors including, Infrastructure, Housing, Education, Industrial and public buildings.

We are now seeking a number of passionate, driven and commercially minded individual’s to join our dedicated team of likeminded professionals. The majority of these roles will sit within the our established Estates, Quantity Surveying and Civils teams where these new team members will be key in continuing Align Property Partners development into our existing markets.

▼ Bridge Inspector

Salary: From £33000 - £39000 annum, experience dependant.

Location: Northallerton or Otley, with travel to sites across North Yorkshire

Contract: Permanent, full-time, Monday – Friday. There will be some out of hours working required on occasion

We are looking for a Bridge Inspector to expand the Bridges team at Align Property Services.

Align Property Services is a Limited Company, wholly owned by North Yorkshire Council and we are one of the largest multi-discipline building design consultancies in the North of England. We are collaborative in the way we work, offering a broad range of services in Architecture, Sustainability, Building Surveying, Project Management, Civil & Structural, Transport Planning, Bridges, Highways & Drainage Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, CDM, Property Advisory & Estate Management.

As a Bridge Engineer Inspector,

You will work collaboratively with a team of inspectors, engineers, and technicians across our multi-disciplined workforce to deliver on bridge projects. You will organize and conduct thorough and efficient bridge inspections, reporting your findings in line with contractual agreements. Occasionally, you will oversee special inspections, such as those involving diving and confined spaces. Your expertise will enable you to make informed decisions when investigating structural defects, and you will escalate these findings to all relevant parties to ensure the safety of all bridges throughout North Yorkshire.

To be successful in this position, you will be able to demonstrate the following essential skills and qualifications:

  • Hold a HND / HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with demonstrable experience in the inspection of bridges, working within an   engineering design consultancy or Local Authority.
  • Trained with sufficient experience to ensure personal safety of yourself and others whilst working on the highways network.
  • Experience of working at heights, overwater and on railways with a strong understanding of the Health & Safety risks associated.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  • Hold a clean, full UK driving license with the ability to travel across the county.
