About our M&E Team
Align Property Services hold a unique position of strength in the building design sector; our multi-disciplinary consultancy enables us to deliver total design solutions for our clients providing competitive advantage over single design firms. We are able to deliver agile, efficient services driving client value providing financial competitive advantage over the large national design firms.
From Insight to Impact
At Align, your work starts with understanding why a project matters not just what needs to be built. You’ll be involved from the earliest stages, contributing to feasibility and business case studies that shape outcomes, manage risk and turn opportunity into deliverable solutions. This early involvement means your technical insight genuinely influences decisions and sets projects up for success.
Designing Smarter, More Sustainable Buildings
You’ll help develop design strategies that strike the right balance between innovation, compliance and sustainability. Working with collaborative project teams, you’ll produce coordinated design packages, BIM models and technical reports that form the backbone of efficient construction and high-quality delivery. This is hands‑on building services engineering where thoughtful design makes a real difference.
Ownership, Certainty and Performance
You’ll play a key role in delivering performance and cost certainty, undertaking surveys, supporting financial control and coordinating building services through commissioning and handover. Sustainability is embedded in everything we do, giving you the opportunity to design and deliver low‑carbon, energy‑efficient solutions that support long‑term net‑zero goals and operational excellence.
The Expertise You’ll Build
End‑to‑End Project Experience
You’ll gain exposure across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and early concept design through to detailed design, BIM modelling, delivery and commissioning. You’ll be supported by experienced professionals while developing your own specialism, delivering robust, sustainable engineering solutions to a high technical standard.
Mechanical Engineering Opportunities
As part of our mechanical team, you’ll work across a diverse range of systems, including:
- Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC)
- Refrigeration and gas services
- Domestic hot and cold-water systems
- Renewable and low‑carbon technologies
- Site-wide infrastructure and plant design
- Building Management Systems (BMS) and controls
- Energy modelling, low‑carbon consultancy and EPC production
You’ll have the chance to develop your expertise in modern, future‑focused building services engineering while contributing to projects with real social and environmental impact.
Electrical Engineering Opportunities
Within our electrical engineering team, you’ll work across complex and varied systems, including:
- Low voltage installations
- Lighting design, controls and energy-efficient solutions
- Electrical distribution networks and small power systems
- Fire detection and life safety systems
- Security, access control and integrated technologies
- Structured cabling, data and communications networks
- Standby generation and UPS systems
- Lifts, through to lightning protection
This is an environment where technical detail matters, innovation is encouraged, and your contribution is visible from concept to commissioning.

Led by our two Technical Directors, Chris and Steve, across Northallerton, Otley, Durham and Cumbria, we are looking to expand and speak with people who can bring their knowledge and experience to an already established and successful team.
