About Align Property Partners

We are one of the largest multi-discipline building design consultancies in the North of England. A limited company, wholly owned by North Yorkshire Council, we are collaborative in the way we work. The services we offer include Architecture, Sustainability, Building Surveying, Project Management, Civil & Structural, Transport Planning, Bridges, Highways & Drainage Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, CDM, Property Advisory & Estate Management.
We are dynamic and diverse in our approach to projects, our services range from valuing small gardens to working on multi-million-pound listed structures including schools, fire stations, care homes and other public and commercial buildings across the UK. Since September 2016, Align Property Partners have taken on 43 apprentices who are each offered sponsored training with a progression through to degree level. From building surveying through to civil, structural and highway engineering, an apprenticeship at our multi-disciplinary company offers a fantastic chance for you to develop your skills and a clear pathway for future career progression.

A little more about your team…
You’ll join an established team of engineers and technicians, who are located across our offices in Northallerton, Durham and Otley. Our Civils team have delivered on a number of meaningful projects including a recent scheme with Hull City Council, providing updates to their roundabouts, designed to increase highway capacity and enhance cycle lane infrastructure, and the Catterick Levelling Up Fund project, where our Civils team led on infrastructure design in close collaboration with other disciplines.
What you’ll be doing
As part of our Civil Engineering team, you’ll gain experience across key areas such as sustainable construction, structural integrity, surveys, feasibility studies, and design using different materials. Your role will involve supporting project delivery by planning tasks, managing resources, and ensuring outputs meet industry standards. You’ll contribute to innovative design solutions, analyse data using digital tools to solve technical challenges, and play a part in construction activities, focusing on safety, risk management and quality.

Our Highways team is a dynamic group of professionals dedicated to delivering safe, efficient, and sustainable transport infrastructure. The team brings together a wealth of expertise, including Principal and Senior Engineers who lead on strategic design and project delivery, supported by skilled Engineers and Technicians who ensure technical excellence. Alongside them, our apprentices contribute fresh ideas and enthusiasm, gaining hands-on experience as they develop their careers. Together, we work collaboratively to maintain and improve the local network, ensuring high standards and innovative solutions for the communities we serve.
What you’ll be doing
As an Apprentice Highway Engineer, you’ll develop in designing and specifying infrastructure projects such as roads, drainage systems, and highway features. Using industry-standard tools like PDS, Civils 3D, AutoCAD, and MicroDrainage, you’ll contribute to both conceptual and detailed designs. You’ll work closely with a highly skilled and diverse multidisciplinary team, gaining valuable insight into other engineering and construction disciplines, and learning how to effectively coordinate and deliver successful projects that fulfil our client’s needs.

What you’ll be doing
As an Apprentice Building Services Electrical Engineer, you'll be at the heart of shaping the built environment, contributing to the design and delivery of innovative electrical systems for buildings. Your role will involve collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to plan, design, and manage projects from concept to completion. The commercial team are friendly and collaborative, made up of experienced professionals, including a Principal Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyors, Quantity Surveyors, and an Assistant Quantity Surveyor. Together, we deliver a wide variety of projects across the Northeast and beyond—from small refurbishments to multi-million-pound new builds. Recent projects include new housing developments, a primary school in Northallerton, an accommodation block at Bewerley Park, and a maritime hub in Whitby, with many exciting schemes in the pipeline such as care homes, retrofit projects, and infrastructure improvements. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for someone who’s excited to contribute, learn, and help shape the future of our team.
What you’ll be doing
As an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor, you’ll learn how to manage costs, prepare estimates, and oversee contracts while gaining hands-on experience on a variety of construction projects. Working closely with senior surveyors and project teams, you will gain experience both on-site and, in the office, while also studying towards your degree. A little more about your team
Our Architecture team consists of a diverse group of professionals, including experienced architects, skilled technologists, and enthusiastic apprentices who are mainly based in our Northallerton and Otley offices. We are proud to be a RIBA Chartered practice and have had the opportunity to work on a range of projects that span various sectors including leisure, historic buildings, refurbishments, care homes, housing, education, public and community buildings, regeneration and public realm with The Seam in Barnsley and Whitby Maritime Training Hub being two of our most recent. Every day is different with projects across all RIBA Plan of Work stages, ranging in value from £50k to £20m and beyond, with each scheme having a positive impact on our communities, visitors and local businesses.
What you’ll be doing
As an Apprentice Architectural Technologist, you will support the design and delivery of projects by producing planning, building regulation, and construction information. You’ll create schedules of work and specifications using NBS software, while ensuring compliance with current CDM regulations. Working to defined business processes and timeframes, you will develop your skills in industry-standard tools such as Photoshop, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Revit. You’ll gain hands-on experience in the technical delivery of education and housing projects across the UK, collaborating closely with other disciplines to produce coordinated outputs. Your role will also involve attending client and contractor meetings, visiting sites for inspections and surveys, and contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality projects.

We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Business Support Officer to join our team at Align Property Services.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in keeping our operations running smoothly by providing essential administrative and business support. From managing day-to-day tasks, to assisting with projects that make a real impact, you’ll gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment while developing valuable skills for your future.
A little more about your team…
Our Business Support team is the backbone of Align Property Services. They ensure everything runs seamlessly behind the scenes, providing vital support across the business. From managing schedules and handling documentation to assisting with projects and client communications, the team plays a key role in keeping operations efficient and professional. Their collaborative approach and attention to detail make them an essential part of delivering exceptional service.
What you’ll be doing
As an Apprentice Business Support Officer, you’ll work to defined business standards and processes, carrying out a wide range of clerical and administrative tasks with professionalism and confidentiality. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include providing advice and guidance on business processes, researching and managing information across finance, projects, staffing, and performance data, and helping to develop and maintain systems that support operational needs. You’ll prepare and present documents, manage service databases, assist with facilities management, and organise meetings and events. Acting as a first point of contact for specific functions, you’ll also support recruitment, induction, and training activities, while performing accurate data input to keep our records up to date.

The Seam, Barnsley – A transformative public realm project creating a new landscaped gateway from the train station. Align is providing technical advisory and project management services for Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, with construction now underway.
Whitby Maritime Training Hub – A multi-million-pound development designed to boost the local economy and job market. Align is delivering project management and contract administration services, with completion expected in April 2026.
